6 ft apart, but also together

This was one of the longest weeks ever. Did we ever have a normal life? Maybe, a lifetime ago. We feel for all of you out there trying to adapt and dealing with your fears. We don't know what is going to happen with state after state following San Francisco's model, while watching the bad outcomes in Italy and Spain. Trying desprately to slow the rate of infection so hospitals can cope.

Bayview Opera House staff is working from home and connecting online. We are looking for ways to create something for the community online, as we anticipate this state of affairs not changing really soon. Watch for announcements later this week.

Food Pantry - the San Francisco Marin Food Bank will be giving out groceries in our parking lot starting tomorrow, and every Monday 10:00AM -1PM throughout the crisis. No pre-registration required - people who need food can just walk up and get it.

The Bayview Opera House is temporarily closed but our hearts and minds are open.

Family, Friends, Neighbors, and Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we let you know that the Bayview Opera House is temporarily closed.  Today Tuesday 3/17/2020, in accordance with the shelter in place measures outlined by local and state officials concerning COVID-19, The Bayview Opera House Ruth Williams Memorial Theatre will be closed temporarily until 4/7/2020 or until the shelter in place measures are lifted.

To protect the health and safety of our community our BVOH staff is working from home. Despite our remote work location, we are all still committed to nurturing the community through creativity.  We will be monitoring emails and phone messages and we can be reached at or 415-824-0386.

We are also taking this moment as an opportunity to develop ideas and programs that use technology to bring people together to remind us that even though we are separated physically our community is strong and very much intact.
