On April 14th, 2021, BVOH and Crowded Fire Theater Company will collaborate on a youth-centered online workshop series that focuses on using teaching youth the art of storytelling through writing and visual design. This workshop in particular, will be an opportunity specifically for African American and Asian youth to come together and use the experience of open dialogue and and the process of collaborative creation to address the current tensions between the two communities in response to the recent increase in hate crimes against the Asian Community.
The weekly workshops will be facilitated by BVOH Theater Manager Ashley Smiley, Artistic Director of Crowded Fire Theater Company Mina Morita and BVOH Production Manager Z Perdomo to give the students the opportunity to gain knowledge and support from local industry professionals and create alongside them.
