Come experience some of the most brilliant young writers, performers, and storytellers in the Bay as they go two rounds performing their best original poems. Poets are competing for an opportunity to perform at Teen Poetry Slam Finals at the Sydney Goldstein Theater on Friday, April 8th.
Is this your first Teen Poetry Slam? We welcome you. Poetry slams are an Olympic-Style Competition, where poets have 3 minutes to rock the stage. 5 judges in the audience score each poem on a scale of 0.0-10.0. But don’t let the competition fool you: the Teen Poetry Slam is about the poetry, not the points. Come ready to laugh, clap, cry, and of course, snap, in a one-of-a-kind celebration of youth and their voices that you will have to be there to experience.
